Bed and breakfasts

Bed and breakfast inns are typically small, personal operations. Several of them in our county have been designated as bicyclist friendly by the California Association of Bed and Breakfast Inns.

On the left: the Ballard Inn in the small town of Ballard is in the Santa Ynez valley.



There are several places to camp in Santa Barbara county, including several state beaches that have reduced rates for bike-in and hike-in campers.

On the left: this is the bike-in, hike-in area at Carpinteria State Beach, with fire pits, table sets, shade and nearby restrooms.



Choices are limited here to two establishments in the city of Santa Barbara, both run by the same organization.

Bike-friendly inns

It may be difficult to define what makes any accommodation “bike-friendly,” however many care enough to offer bicycles for rent or free to visitors.

On the left: the Old Yacht Club Inn located near the beach in Santa Barbara offers free beach cruisers to guests.
